About us

Theegarten-Pactec, the packaging machinery manufacturer from Dresden offers a complete selection of wrapping styles and performance levels for smallsized confectionery items. The manufacturing program is organized in a matrix, meanwhile comprising of more than 30 individual solutions for the three main product categories hard candy / pre-formed products, soft caramel / chewing gum (cut & wrap method) and chocolate products. Several additional food and nonfood applications are also available. In each of these categories, the typical wrapping styles can be offered. News & Innovations

Sealing Technology for Sustainable Packaging

The sealing station developed by Theegarten-Pactec is located directly after the actual fold wrapping station. As soon as a product has reached the sealing station, the sealing tool moves to the product to be sealed at a distance of 0.5 mm to 1 mm. Negative pressure then causes the package to be sucked onto the sealing stamp.

In this way, there is no contact between the packaging material and the product during the sealing, which ensures that there are no pressure marks or other damage to the product. After sealing, the packaging material detaches from the sealing station and once again rests directly on the product which has now been completely packed. The sealing seam only comes into contact with the product again after it has sufficiently cooled.

This innovation offers numerous advantages: e.g., material can be reduced by eliminating the need for an additional aluminium laminate to dissipate heat and protect the chocolate or there is no need for a gluing device for product closure.

High-Speed Packaging with Paper-Based Flow Packs

The FPC5 – a modular high-performance packaging machine for flow packs - has been refined so that it can now process paper-based packaging materials: on the one hand by the common cold sealing process, on the other, by the far more complex heat-sealing process.

Theegarten-Pactec has developed the ideal solution for heat sealing paper-based packaging with an impressive wrapping material speed of up to 90 m/min This corresponds to 600 sizeable 40g chocolate bars per minute.
Thanks to this solution, the machine can now produce a flow pack package made of barrier paper with integrated heat-sealing capability and a pure paper content of at least 95 percent. Due to the low proportions of sealing
material and barrier layer against grease penetration, moisture or other environmental influences, the packaging produced can be fully recycled in the paper waste stream and reused for new applications.
